UrgeFree: Stop Binge Eating

UrgeFree is an iOS wellbeing application. This policy explains what information is processed when you use the app. UrgeFree is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice.

Information stored on your device

The personal content you create in UrgeFree—including meals, moods, reflections, goals, wins, weights, preferences, and history—is stored locally on your device. UrgeFree has no server-side account or journal service and does not upload this content to a server operated by us.

Some app features use Apple system surfaces such as the Home Screen widget, Live Activities, local notifications, the camera, the photo picker, and the share sheet. Information shown in a widget or Live Activity remains on your device. When you explicitly share an exported document or select a destination, the copy received by that destination is controlled by the selected service and cannot be deleted by UrgeFree.

Product analytics

UrgeFree uses Amplitude to understand how the app is used. The current version starts analytics when the app launches and sends usage events such as app opens, screen interactions, flow completion, subscription state, and selected structured signals related to mood, hunger, urges, and eating behaviour. Photo contents and photo paths are not intentionally sent to Amplitude. The app configuration disables advertising ID, carrier, and IP-address collection by Amplitude. Amplitude may still process a pseudonymous device identifier and device or app information.

Analytics is used to improve the product, not for third-party advertising or cross-app advertising tracking. Amplitude's data handling is described in its privacy policy: https://amplitude.com/privacy

Crash diagnostics

Production versions use Sentry to receive crash and app-hang diagnostics so we can improve stability. The app disables Sentry's default collection of personally identifiable information and does not intentionally attach journal content or photos. Diagnostic reports may include technical information such as the app version, device type, operating-system version, and error details. Subscriptions

UrgeFree uses RevenueCat and Apple's App Store to manage purchases, subscriptions, entitlement status, and restoration. Payment details are entered through Apple and are not available to UrgeFree. RevenueCat receives purchase and subscription information and uses an app user identifier needed to provide these functions. Retention and deletion

You can remove data owned by UrgeFree from Settings → Privacy → Delete All Local Data. Deleting the app also removes its local application data, subject to Apple's device and backup behaviour. Deleting local data does not cancel a subscription or erase purchase records that Apple or RevenueCat must retain to provide and restore purchases.

Amplitude, Sentry, RevenueCat, and Apple retain and delete information under their own policies and applicable law. If you ask us to help with a privacy or deletion request, contact us at the address below. We may need information that allows the relevant provider to locate a pseudonymous record; in some cases a record may not be reasonably linkable to you by us.

Sharing and tracking

UrgeFree does not sell personal information and does not use information for third-party advertising. The app does not request Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission and does not intentionally use advertising identifiers. Information is provided to Amplitude, Sentry, RevenueCat, and Apple only for the purposes described above.

Children's privacy

UrgeFree is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
